A rare French travel poster for Cherbourg. Signed in the plate Douhin (?) and dated in Roman numerals for 1909. Looks to be a combination of lithography (black and red lettering) and offset lithography. Possibly dates to 1909, possibly later. The combined technique is one that was used on occasion during that period. Charming image advertising the beach, casino, and "parc magnifique" only 6 hours from Paris. Linen backed 38 3/4 x 30 1/2in.
Notes: Linen backed, bright and fresh overall
